In 1994, God Opened The Doors

In a local elementary school, Pastor James and Cindy Long operated an after-school bible club called “Kids Alive”. Out of a love to reach the families of the 160 Kids Alive children, Gateway was birthed. We were graciously released and blessed by our parent church's Senior Pastor, Dr. Steve Meeks of Calvary Community Church in Houston, TX.

Two years later, we were amazed at God’s provision in providing a permanent facility for our congregation. He miraculously provided every dollar for the property purchase and all the necessary renovations allowing us to remain debt-free as a church. To date, we remain debt-free. This enables Gateway to sow generously to both local and foreign missions.
